For 12 years, our work has been bringing the best in new original work to Woking. Starting out in the pubs, cafes of the area and moving through three diverse venue spaces we are delighted to present this inclusive welcoming night that supports community and artists in Woking. This month artists are:
Pete Cox, artist, poet, the creator of the inclusive Innerverse. Pete writes based on experiences and anything that fires up repetitive thoughts and feelings. The insightful nature of his work, holds dear, humour, kindness & a wry look at all of the ways we recover, thrive & support each other.
Claudia Stark, celebrates her new release on the same day is an absolute treat for us. She performs “with a ton of guts, passion, & at times brutal intensity” (The Musical Melting Pot) which is entirely in keeping with the fierce subjects of which she writes.
Elaine McGinty & Joe Buckley . Her poems have been published in a variety of anthologies including ‘For The Many, Not The Few’ and Razur Cuts. Co-Founders of the Phoenix Cultural Centre CIC & Fiery Bird Live Music venue their work reflects the struggles of communities trying to empower themselves & those whose voices aren’t heard, in their homes, their towns, their lives.
He Fired First- songs of hope and protest, He Fired First has been building a committed following as he shared his songs around the gigs and festivals of the South East over the last few years. More than polemic thrust they are woven through with empathy and kindness.
