‘World In Music’ Ensemble is an exciting new musical group, launching in October 2024 at Woking’s Phoenix Cultural Arts Centre.

Taking place on Saturday afternoons 3 – 4.30pm, This is a an exciting new vocal and percussion group, embracing western and non-western music traditions and providing opportunities to learn about unfamiliar cultures. You’ll make friends and create amazing music together! The age range for participants is 8-16 years old. No previous musical experience is necessary and all skill levels are welcomed.

As an inclusive ensemble, we are especially excited to welcome students from diverse backgrounds and those who have English as a second or other language to this group, as well as local Surrey peers. We are also particularly excited to meet young people from vulnerable backgrounds, those who are young carers and are from care experienced backgrounds.

The first term is offered for free as part of I Speak Music Next Generation, a Youth Music funded programme, which aims to use music as a tool to promote greater wellbeing and mental health in young people, help build musical skills and build understanding and friendship between children of all cultural backgrounds, including those from displaced backgrounds.
