Closing Our Venue. Not Our Values.

For 15 years, we’ve fought to bring Woking a truly community-led grassroots venue. We’ve overcome huge challenges and bounced back many times.
We have been:

  • A training venue helping young people build skills, confidence, and creative careers
  • A place for people of all ages to enjoy, create, and perform
  • A platform for emerging artists of all disciplines
  • A home for excellent UK and international touring acts—right here in Woking
  • A safe, inclusive space for marginalised communities
  • A champion for those without connections or resources
  • A neutral “third space” where people from all backgrounds can share cultures, arts, and experiences
  • We’ve put Woking on the national and international touring circuit, and we help community businesses across the UK to thrive with mentoring and advice.
Now, it’s confirmed—there’s no space in Woking for us to continue. Without that, we can’t secure the funding we need to operate longer, employ staff, or give training.
We’ve left no stone unturned, exhausted every avenue. There are no options left—except to close with dignity and care, ensuring our community is supported to the end.
Help support vulnerable groups and trainees into new spaces who need gentle transition. Let’s finish with care. No one left behind.
Every event here is run by a team of local volunteers, sharing skills to make a welcoming place for all, while training new starters in the creative industries.

    Why We Need Your Help

In 2023 we had to take a temporary space, after initial business rates issues losing crucial funding, 11 break-ins, rising bills, temporary building repairs outstanding, the loss of £30k funding, a short-term lease, and the sale of our promised permanent home taking away a future, losing the ability to raise funding —we are facing closure.
We have just one month of funds left.
We can’t choose if we close, but we can choose how we close.

    What This Crowdfunder Will Support:

Your donations will help us stay open until January 2026, supporting our community as we transition.

    £20,000 will allow us to:

  • Honour bookings for gigs, exhibitions, support groups, and training
  • Provide a safe transition for vulnerable groups who rely on our space
  • Deliver our final programme of touring gigs and community events

  • £30,000 will also enable us to:
  • Support young trainees in sound, lighting, and event skills
  • Offer more performance opportunities for local artists—and professionally record their work
  • Complete national research that will shape the future of grassroots venues
  • How You Can Help
    • Donate—anything helps
    • Share this appeal with your network
    • Show up—make the most of our last months, put on gigs, bring friends, write, create, and enjoy the space while it’s still yours

We can’t be saved. But you can give us one last chance to serve—closing in the kindest way possible, celebrating everything we’ve achieved together.
