Our next Lovely Music Night features three stunning artists inspired by different cultural experiences and beliefs bringing exciting fusions and new sounds.  

Ajay Srivastav is a critically acclaimed musician and song writer who reflects life and lessons learnt as a British born artist of Indian heritage, with uplifting songs of protest and change.

His unique rootsy guitar style is layered with inflections of sitar and sarod. This ability to merge scales, and techniques from classical Indian music with slide guitar playing, are down to his continual search for commonality where there is difference. He will be accompanied by celebrated percussionist Vinod Kerai on tabla. 

A seasoned musician and performer, Ajay has played with diverse range of artists including Gregory Isaacs, DJ Ritu, Jah Wobble and Zakir Hussain. Whilst visiting his ancestral home in the ancient city of Varanasi, he took the time out to draw on his experiences and influences to develop his own musical vison. 

His songs are the perfect antidote to the polarised times we live in, exploring issues of division, identity, mental health, inequality and faith. Often asking big questions and offering searing insights grounded in peace, positivity, and redemption.  www.ajayhq.com

Rich Dawson is a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer. A Woking resident and world citizen he brings cultural heritage from Ireland to Africa into the experiences that shape his work. In addition to his own work, he is also half of acclaimed writing duo Cardboard Carousel along with his wife Calliopi Dawson,so popular from our first tiny Phoenix Centre to the first Fiery Bird and for venues and promoters internationally. He creates musical soundscapes for the Lectio365 app. 

Rich’s powerful and poignant lyrics sharing the most raw emotions of life’s situations and beautiful melodies engages to make a gig a place of the extraordinary the beauty of the good and sadness, with heightened senses at injustices people face. 

Our newest and very welcome visitor to Fiery Bird is Feia a 20 year old songwriter from Ukraine, where golden fields meet whispering woods. She has been touched by music since childhood — a quiet magic she’s nurtured with heart and hands. Writing her own songs in a folk-inspired style, she sings in English and Ukrainian of nature, dreams, and the invisible threads that bind all things. Her voice carries the wild soul of her homeland, woven with mystery, softness, and strength.
