Enda McCabe from Galway is a valued and acclaimed part of the Irish music scene. Gigging extensively for many years in Ireland and the UK he shares his songs and stories in both English and Irish.

This has been brought to Woking as part of our Woking Roots: Ground Up, Live programme supported by  Arts Council England, reflecting the diverse communities of Woking.

You will see down Walton Rd, roads like Kilrush and Kerry Terrace, Irish labourers built Sheerwater after the war, Woking had a very active and large Irish association, holding dances, celebrations, cultural events like a regular Fleadh and St Patrick’s Day events at Woking Centre Halls.

Born and raised in Dublin, Enda sings, plays guitar and mandola and tells stories. He lived in England for twenty five and raising his family here. He returned to Ireland in 1998 and lives in the Conamara Gaeltacht, Co Galway.

He was unable to perform for quite a few years because of kidney failure. He received a kidney transplant in 2021 and got his life back. He has been back on the road since and says that he will continue to do so as long as he can.

He has played in Ireland, Britain, The U.S.A., France, Holland, Austria, Japan and China most recently an acclaimed performance at the highly successful Belfast Fleadh. His show usually consists of songs, tunes and stories, both tall and short. ‘It is entertaining and people seem to like it.’ He says modestly

Enda will also be offering a Irish Singing workshop from 12-1.30pm priced £10. Click here to book the workshop
